The Holy Bible
The Holy Bible is the
sacred written record of God’s revelation to man. It is composed of
thirty-nine (39) Books in the Old Testament and twenty-seven (27) Books
in the New Testament. Together the sixty-six (66) Books represent the
overall theme of Baptists’ sole authority for faith and practice. This
collection of sacred Books allows the reader to focus on the salvation
of man. The Old Testament describes the creation of an and how God
dealt wit His chosen people. In contract, the New Testament introduce
the reader to the birth of the Church while revealing the birth,
crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascension of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. More than thirty-five (35) men and women over a period of
1,500 year have contributed to the writing of these Books. II Timothy
3:16-17 describes this sacred book in this manner, “All scripture is
given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man
of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished into all good works.”
